This is the big question – how will I know what channels I will get once I have cancelled my cable service? Well luckily there are free tools that will tell you what you can expect. The one I like the most is from TV Fool (https://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29). I found with my setup of a fairly basic digital antenna mounted outside that I get the channels that TV Fool said I would get in the “Green Zone”. One thing to take into consideration that depending where you live you can get great reception or not so great reception and the online tool at TV Fool helps you figure that out.
What I found was that I got all the local channels that I need and a few from outside my area. I live in Ottawa and I get a channel out of Hamilton and CityTV from Toronto – it just depends what is re-broadcasted in your area.
