Disney+ More to it than you think

Disney+

We all know of Disney and their extensive catalogue of wonderful movies and memories. With the announcement of Disney+ and thinking about this site I wanted to get the perspective of my eldest Daughter who just recently became a new Mother and will be able to share the movies and shows that she grew up with, with her own little one.

I Skyped her and asked her if she could take a break from writing her Grad School thesis, (which was a welcomed reprieve), and share with me what she thought of Disney+. I knew she had signed up as soon as it launched and mentioned how nostalgic it made her feel. This is what she wrote back to me…

“There are few moments in collective memory where people share in childhood wonder. The release of Disney+ has inspired a cultural moment of nostalgia. The shows and movies have the ability to bring us back to a time where magic was real. Just as Disney VHS tapes ran ragged from with near-constant viewing, this subscription is one that you will find yourself coming back to time and time again.”

I thought that was an interesting mental image as I can still recall the tapes constantly falling out of the hutch that held them in beneath the TV. For me Disney and those tapes are part of the wonderful memories of when my family was young.

If you are interested in Disney+, they are offering a free trial subscription so you can see if it right for you. If it is not quite the right fit, simply cancel your subscription during the trial period. Pro Tip: when I sign up for free trials, I put an entry into my calendar on my phone to remember to continue or cancel. Check out the magic for yourself!

High School Musical – we wore that tape out! “Get your head in the game….Get your head in the GAME!” My kids would say that to each other all the time.
